A Good Book

Good Morning Summer Interns!

I hope each of you had a great weekend. We had a sunny weekend here, which was really nice. I wanted to let you all know that I've been given the name of a great book by one of our missionaries in the DR. She just finished reading it and she said it gave her a great background on the DR. She wanted me to share it with all of you and encourage you to read it before your trip this summer. Here's the info -

Title: "Why the Cocks Fight"
Author: Michelle Wucker
Story: It's a history of the DR and Haiti, interspersed with stories and interviews of people the author met on the streets of the two countries.

If you find yourself with some free time and want to get a good background on the country, this might be a great read for you.

Thank you again for all the work you have put in thus far. As a small reminder, please send me your airfare information and photo by the end of this week. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Blessings,
Cambria

Staying longer.....

Is anyone thinking of staying longer in the DR and traveling? I need to book my plane ticket home, but I do not know if I want to leave right away or not.

Welcome 2010 DR Interns!!!

Welcome to our blog for 2010 Dominican Republic Interns!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and is getting super excited for the upcoming summer. I know I am!

I have created this blog so that we can get to know one another and stay in communication through our preparations for this summer. You are more than welcome to start a discussion/post on here or respond/comment on anyone elses. I am VERY new to the world of blogging so forgive me if I make a mistake along the way. I am always open to suggestions :)

Each intern has been invited to join the blog and can create their own google account with information and a photo. There may be a few more that join us in the next couple weeks as some interviews are still taking place. I really hope to see all of you take advantage of this blog and getting to know one another since you will be spending 6 weeks together serving in the Dominican Republic this summer.

Thanks again for everyone's work thus far and please don't be shy!

Blessings,
Cambria
